Aloha Trailblazers!

Welcome to Stone Ranch Elementary School and to Room H5. I thought it would be nice to introduce myself to you and your family. My family is very adventurous and loves to travel and try new things. This past summer we made our yearly visit to the Hawaiian Islands. We love the aloha spirit and the culture. Our favorite islands are Maui and the Big Island of Hawaii.

Also, this summer we have taken up a new family sport/adventure called Geocaching.

I have two great kids who are Stone Ranch Trailblazers. My daughter, Kaitlyn who is nine is a fourth grader here at Stone Ranch. She loves stories, singing, dancing, and playing with friends. She also loves basketball and the beach.

Kaitlyn learned how to surf this summer and is very excited about her new surfboard.

My son, Christopher is seven and loves all sports. He is a second grader and is looking forward to the new school year. He really enjoys throwing and kicking balls at the park or in front of our house. Christopher is our soon-to-be Pro Skater and he can't wait to get his own line of skateboards with his name on them. His favorite Pro Skaters are Tony Hawk and Willy Santos. Over the summer, Christopher has taken up surfing too. He can't wait to surf some larger waves when he gets older!

My wife Mary and I are both teachers and enjoy our summers traveling with our kids. Collectively, Mary and I have been teaching for over 30 years and we have enjoyed every last bit of it. Teaching has brought us many things, and more importantly, teaching is how we met. Can you believe that at one time we both worked right across the hall from each other?

I have been teaching here in Poway for the last fifteen years and have had a wonderful experience. Within that time I have earned a Masters in Educational Technology and enjoy using this vast media with my students. In my teaching I utilize my creativeness as well as my work ethic to inspire my students to become life-long learners. I feel that learning should be fun as well as challenging.

Warm Regards and Aloha,

Mr. Delos Santos
