ORGANIZATION Help!

  • Split desk into “hard” side and “soft” side.
  • Provide a binder with color-coded, tabbed subject areas.  TRAIN students to put papers into appropriate sections.
  • Use daily homework assignment sheet.  Gradually work up to weekly.  (Daily is less cluttered and easier to maintain)
  • Provide a “while you were out” folder for Special Ed. students who are pulled out and may miss some instruction.
  • Be sure to “catch up” with students who are out of the classroom and be sure that they get the necessary instruction to complete assignments.
  • Visual mini-schedules.
  • Provide a daily visual schedule on the board or in a place that is easily viewed in the classroom.
