- Split desk into “hard” side and “soft” side.
- Provide a binder with
color-coded, tabbed subject areas. TRAIN students to put papers into
appropriate sections.
- Use daily
homework assignment sheet. Gradually work up to weekly. (Daily is less
cluttered and easier to maintain)
- Provide a “while you
were out” folder for Special Ed. students who are pulled out and may miss some
instruction.
- Be sure to “catch up”
with students who are out of the classroom and be sure that they get the
necessary instruction to complete assignments.
- Visual
mini-schedules.
- Provide a daily
visual schedule on the board or in a place that is easily viewed in the
classroom.
