Meet Mrs. Reisert

Because I will be spending so much time with your child each day, I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a few things about myself personally and professionally.
I was born in England and moved to Pennsylvania when I was 3 and then to San Diego when I was 8 years old. I attended Sunset Hills Elementary, Black Mountain, and Mt. Carmel (Poway Unified) After I graduated Mt. Carmel, I moved to Fresno to attend California State University, Fresno, earning a full swimming scholarship for 4 years. I earned a Bachelor’s degree, Multiple Subject Credential and a CLAD certificate and am a current record holder in the 200 yard freestyle and 400 freestyle relay.
After graduating college, I moved back to San Diego and became a substitute teacher for Poway and San Diego Unified. The following summer, I received my Montessori certification and became and taught Montessori, grades 2 through 5 for two years. Then, I taught all subjects to 6th grade at Bernardo Heights Middle School. That same year, I earned my Masters Degree in Education at California State University, San Marcos. After teaching at Bernardo Heights, I taught 5th grade here at Morning Creek for 3 years and this will be my 2nd year teaching 4th grade.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and hobbies such as, triathlon, yoga (www.heidispoweryoga.com), surfing and traveling.
I currently live in 4S Ranch with my wonderful husband, also a teacher for Poway Unified. He teaches Science and Social Studies at Oak Valley Middle School for 6th and 7th grade.
This is going to be a wonderful year!
