NOTEBOOK ORGANIZATION (09/10)

  * KEEP A COPY OF THIS PAPER IN YOUR BINDER AT ALL TIMES!  I will give spot check grades throughout the year. Please, come prepared or you will choose not to earn these points in social studies/Lang Arts.

  Place the following items in a 1 1/2" or larger binder:

  I.  A three-hole pouch or pencil box which contains:

        A.  Small ruler

        B.  At least 2 sharpened #2 pencils or mechanical pencils with extra lead

        C.  Small, covered pencil sharpener only if you use regular pencils         

        D.  Scissors

        E.  Eraser

        F.  Pens:

             1.  At least 3 blue and/or black pens

             2.  At least 2 red pens for correcting

        G.  Colored pencils (non permanent markers are Ok but please, do not bring Sharpies to class.

        H.  Highlighter (2 different colors)

        I.   Glue-Stick  

        J.  3 x 5 " cards

        K.  Water soluble markers (for science)  

II.  Two sets of index dividers labeled as follows/ or you may keep a separate spiral binder for:

        A.  Homework completed but not yet graded

        B.  Study Skills / Lists / Rules

        C.  Lang Arts:

               1  Literature

                2  Vocabulary / Spelling

                3  Writing /Grammar

        G. 

        H.  Social Studies

            1  Geography

            2. History 

III.  College ruled paper preferred.  Keep about ˝ “ clean paper at the back of your

        binder at all times.

 

 IV.  The following handouts should be in your binder in the section labeled “Study Skills”

        A.  Room 505 rules.

        B.  A copy of my Grading Expectations .

        C.  Your school assignment keeper and reference binder.

V.  Have an appropriate novel (in addition to the ones I assign) of your choice to read for silent reading (when you finish your work early).
