     On Wednesday, March 23rd at 6:30 p.m. in the MVMS Little Theatre, the Seventh Grade Team has scheduled an informational parent meeting regarding the Seventeenth Annual History Faire.  The Faire will take place on Thursday, May 12, 2011.  On this day, students will actively participate in an all day simulation of life during the Middle Ages/Renaissance.  Students will take part in period games, role-playing, crafts, etc.  In order for the Faire to be successful, we need a great deal of parent help.  At the meeting we will be discussing the schedule for the Faire day, and there will be sign-up sheets for parent volunteer’s jobs, the supplies we are going to need, etc.  We are currently expanding the History Faire experience, adding professional performers, new games, activities, and crafts.  If you are able to donate time, a used medieval-style costume, or make a monetary donation, it will be put to good use. 

     We will also be discussing costume options since students must wear a period costume during the entire History Faire.  Students who do not wear a costume will not be allowed to participate in the Faire and will be assigned to an alternative area to complete an alternative assignment.  Since the costume will be worn all day on May 12^th and we cannot predict the weather, it would be a good idea for students to wear layers that can be taken off or put on.  Since they will also be participating in active games, tennis shoes are suggested.

     Please complete the cut-off portion below and return it to your child's Humanities Core teacher so we will have some idea how many parents will be attending the March 23^rd meeting and who will be willing to help on the May 12^th History Faire.
