Rotax Max Challenge

Mid Season

National Points Standings

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

The 2009 season has reached the midway point and the Rotax Summer Shootout is this weekend in Norman, OK.

As the first half of the season ends the USRMC National Points standings are starting to take shape. Some series

have reached the point of having 6 races completed. As in the past the standings are dominated by members from

Florida, Texas and California. We must remember many series only have 4 races reported so these standings will

change dramatically between now and the first of December. One thing we can say is the new Micro Max class

has shown over a 300% growth from last year and the young racers flocking to this class are not showing any

signs of slowing.

For the first time we are also recognizing the top DD2 Masters drivers.

Congratulations for your achievements so far this season to all of the standings leaders. With this congratulations

also comes a word of warning, the people behind you are not planning to see you stay there.

The US Rotax Max Challenge consists of over 30 local and regional series across the United States. The

US RMax National Points are figured using a weighted points system. Bonus points are also awarded

under specific criteria. The system is designed to recognize the best racers in their local and regional

series. The best 6 finishes count towards the point total for racers. A racer may compete in more than

one series, earning points for each series separately, for this reason a racer may be listed more than once

in the standings.

The national points are calculated using races run between Jan 1 and Dec 6, 2009.

The US Rotax National Office is located in Palm Springs, CA
