About Mrs. Cochran

Educational and Personal Background

I graduated in 1985 from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences.  I then received my teaching credential from California State University at Long Beach.  My first teaching job was for PUSD at Garden Road Elementary School teaching 5th grade.  I transferred to MVMS in 1994, the first year at its permanent site.  I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching 6th grade ever since.   In 1997 I received my masters in Educational Technology from National University.

Currently, I live in the Rancho Penasquitos area.  My 1 year old son, Reed, is in the eleventh grade at Westview High School.  He enjoys sports, especially baseball, basketball, and skateboarding. He'll continure playing on the water polo team  this year.  I love to travel, snow ski, and sail.  When I have time I also enjoy reading and photography.
