Why
Aren’t All Gifted Kids Alike?
Dear Parents:
Due to the state
budget cuts in education and a lack of funding for GATE education at the school
site level,
there are currently no school site meetings scheduled for the 2009-10 school year.
Any GATE parent meetings, such as the one above, will be sponsored by PUSD and
will be open to all GATE parents in PUSD. You are also welcome to attend
the San Diego City Schools GATE Parent Workshops that are listed on the GATE
home page.
Though there is no money, all teachers will continue to differentiate when appropriate for GATE students.
Please contact your state legislators and/or PUSD Board members if would like to express your concerns regarding the lack of GATE funding. Thank you for understanding.

For the convenience of parents & students
and at the request of administration,
this year's GATE Student Showcase will be combined
with the MVMS Open House for all classes.
Students' work will be displayed
in their regular classrooms.
