Citizenship Rubric

 

To earn a grade of Excellent, the student:

-   must receive all marks in the EXCELLENT column; or

-   must receive all but one mark in the EXCELLENT column and one mark in the GOOD column (NO Satisfactories or below)

To earn a grade of GOOD, a student:

        - must receive all marks in the Excellent and Good columns and have nor more than one Satisfactory mark (nothing lower).

 

5 =  Excellent

4 =  Good

3 = Satisfactory

2 = Needs Improvement

1 = Unsatisfactory

Consistently acts as an exemplary role model

Often acts as a model student

Occasionally acts as a model student

Almost never acts as a model student

Demonstrates no idea how a model student should behave in class.

Consistently takes part in class activities

Often takes part in class activities

Occasionally takes part in class activities when asked to

Is reluctant to participate in class activities

Refuses to take part in class activities

Volunteers to assist others consistently

Sometimes will assist others

Will assist others when asked to

Is resistant to helping others

Refused to help others when asked to

Never talks out in class inappropriately

Rarely talks out in class inappropriately

Sometimes talks out in class inappropriately

Frequently talks out in class inappropriately

Constantly talks out in class inappropriately

Almost always begins work and stays on task without monitoring

Usually begins work and stays on task

Will begin work when asked to.  Occasionally needs to be reminded to stay on task.

Frequently needs to be reminded to begin work and stay on task

Consistently is off task.  Requires constant teacher intervention.

Maintains positive peer relationships consistently

Usually maintains positive peer relationships

On occasion, exhibits negative attitude towards peers or adults

Frequently engages in negative peer behavior or towards adults

Consistently engages in negative and/or disruptive behavior toward/with peers
