Hi!  Let me introduce myself...I'm Mrs. Calder!  Here is a picture of my kids and I camping at the beach.  We were being a bit wild!!

I'm really excited to be your teacher this school year!  We are going to learn about so many new things, and have a lot of fun while we learn.

I bet that you are curious to know a little bit about me.  Well, I think if you ask any of my past students they would tell you that I'm really friendly, fun loving, and fair.  Which, if you ask me, are pretty good qualities to have in a teacher!
Some things that I really like are; my two dogs, the color blue, swimming and playing water polo, salty french fries, California Sea Otters, and reading a good book.  Some things that I really don't like very much are; broccoli, scary movies, roller coasters that go upside down, and messy rooms (and desks!)
I have a wonderful family.  Mr. Calder is my husband.  He is a lifeguard at the beach, and a terrific guy! You will meet him sometime this year.  My daughter is eight.  Her name is Emma.  She likes to come to school for visits.  She is in third grade at Tierra Bonita Elementary School.  She likes American Girls, Disney Channel, playing on the computer, and reading. My son is a little guy...he is five.  His name is Trevor.  He likes to play with Hot Wheels, ride his Razor, play any sport involving a ball, and drive his big sister crazy!  He will be starting kindergarten this year!  You will see all of my family many times during the school year.  Oh, I also have a mom and dad, one sister, and three brothers.  They just don't live at my house!
This will be my 15th year teaching.  My entire teaching career has been spent at Highland Ranch!  I have taught kindergarten, second, third, fourth, and fifth grades!.   I really love to teach United States History!  I was a U.S. history major when I went to school at U.C. San Diego.  History (Social Studies) is my favorite subject!!!
You are one of 30 very special individuals who will make up our family in room 208 this year.  I want you to remember to always try your hardest, and be the best that you can be.  Our classroom is a place that I'm sure you will love, as we all work together to make this year your best school experience yet!
