The San Diego Zoo is a great place to go. There are so many things to do there. You can go on the bus tour and see many animals. In the gardens all around the zoo there are about 6,500 plant species. The San Diego Zoo is proud of its collection of coral trees, palm trees, aloe plants, and orchids. Many of the towering trees and exotic shrubs you can see were planted from seeds that the Zoo's founder, Dr. Harry Wegeforth was given on his world tours in the 1920's and 1930's. Then, if you get hungry, there are many places to eat. You can buy things like hamburgers, fries, drinks, chips, and animal crackers.
In the summer the zoo is a blast for kids who love animals. They have week-long classes for all grade levels that provide kids and animals encounters, off-exhibit visits, craft projects, and more. They even have great art classes with popular art teacher, Joe Nyiri. If you want to get a catalogue of summer classes, call (619) 236-0163.
If you want a
vacation and like animals, the San Diego Zoo would be the right place for you to go!
