Balboa Park is a cool
area of fun things to do. It has a huge water fountain where you can have a picnic
nearby and see pretty birds fly down and have your leftovers!

There are a lot of museums in Balboa Park. Some of them are the Museum of Man,
Aerospace Museum, Hall of Champions, and the Model Railroad Museum. My favorite ones
are the Natural History Museum and the Reuben H. Fleet Space Theater and Science Center.
The
Natural History Museum has had all kinds of gigantic, moving insects, dinosaurs, and
whales. These are so cool to see! This place even has Ms. Frizzle from The
Magic School Bus doing all sorts of neat stuff. You can learn lots of fun
things by signing up for her class.
In the Fleet Space
Theater there is the Imax Theater with a HUGE rounded screen. It is SO cool to watch
the great movies they show! Our whole third grade took a field trip there and saw
"Alaska." That was a lot of fun. Right by this theater is the neat
Science Center. It has lots of science stuff that we can play with.
Balboa Park also has a
really old merry-go-round with a lot of cool animals to ride. You can even still try
to grab a brass ring! There is a little railroad train ride too. You can also
walk inside a place that looks like a big greenhouse with lots and lots of different
plants in it.
If you like to go to
plays, Balboa Park has the Old Globe Theatre, Cassius Carter Centre Stage, and the outdoor
Starlight Theatre. It is really fun to see what happens when an airplane flies over
during a play at the Starlight Theatre. All the actors and actresses freeze until
the plane passes!
There are tons more
things to do at Balboa Park. Have fun!
