 Critical Funding Needs Request

Your donations go directly into the classroom to enhance your child's learning experience!

1.  Alleviate Budget Cuts:  Our per-student budget allocation has been reduced for the upcoming school year.  This funding is used to purchase supplies, copy paper and materials, ink cartridges, etc.  Our most basic need is to cover this funding deficit.

Suggested

Donation

$10 per student

2.  Fund Reading Support Software:  The funds we typically use to support reading education have been reduced the past 2 years.  Last year we implemented Reading Plus, a web-based tool that is accessible to all Westwood Students both at school and from home.  This tool has been proven to improve both reading fluency and comprehension.  Your funds will pay for annual on-line hosting and support & help toward costs for LEXIA Primary Reading (for primary readers & remedial support).  If each of us pitches in, the cost is very affordable!

$25.00 per
   student

3.  Quarter-A-Day:  For just a quarter a day, or $45 per year, you can help fill other gaps caused by funding cuts, such as the purchase of additional computers, providing technical support in the computer lab, purchasing Docucams for classrooms, and a host of other initiatives that will enhance your child's education.

 $45.00 per
  student

4.  Art Corps:  Westwood's art education is solely volunteer led.  Help these dedicated parents purchase supplies need to augment your child's academic experience.

   $20 per
student

Ways You Can Help

There are many ways you can help the Foundation raise money to support our school!

1. Don't spend an extra dime!  Just use your purchasing power to support the school.  By signing up your grocery store card through escrip, purchasing gift cards and doing your online shopping through YellowBrick Mall or SchoolPop the school receives a donation from merchants for every purchase you would make anyway.  Just click on any of the links below to find out more about these programs.

2. Give us your email address.  Contact Us so we can alert you when stores have special programs that would benefit the school.  For example, if an office supply store has a sale where they throw in a free case of copy paper with a purchase, we can alert you and ask you to help out at that time.
3.
Make a secure

4. Supercharge your gift! Take advantage of employer gift matching programs.  Just ask your community relations or employee benefits department if your employer has a gift matching program.  Check our list to see if your employer is already on our list - and please contact us and alert us if we should add your employer to the list.
