Objective
To meet the needs of Westview students, staff and parents,
by utilizing our financial, organizational, and volunteer resources.Goals
Parents
1.
Communicate effective and educational information to parents and students on
important issues by:
a. Establishing the Westview Info Line for parents, students,
and the
community that will allow easy access to information
on Westview’s
programs, events, etc.
b. Distributing information via the
newsletter and parent email database
on all PTSA programs and events.
c. Sponsoring a safety and wellness fair
for parents and students.
2. Offer
financial assistance to families in need:
a. Offering assistance through a community concerns program that
facilitates teachers/staff and student donations during
the holidays.
3.
Provide easy 2-way communication vehicle for all members by:
a. Creating a member survey on wants and needs.
Teachers/Staff
1. Create
better teacher/staff involvement in all PTSA activities by:
a. Establishing a quarterly board meeting
(3-4 times/yr) that a teacher/staff
will attend, to include a purposeful
exchange of information.
2.
Continue communication between the PTSA and staff by publishing the
Staff Newsletter on a monthly basis.
3.
Supporting new “online” store to facilitate donation of needed classroom
supplies through advertisements, publicity
to parents and
community/businesses.
Students
1. Promote
the overall well-being of students by:
a. Increasing student communication of
PTSA programs through the
student directory, and texting
and twitter.
b. Supporting programs (i.e., Character
Counts,
Reflections,
Student/Staff Recognition,College and Career Readiness, etc.)
c. Supporting the
Student Services
Department and ASB
d. Offering a safe graduation celebration
for our senior class by
sponsoring
Grad Nite
2. Provide student leadership opportunities within PTSA by:
e. Actively looking for ways to involve
students in the Board’s work
f. Collaborating with the Westview staff (ie,
ENS, library, etc.) to better
communicate community service opportunities
3. Support College and Career Readiness by:
a. Offering Mock College
Testing
b. Awarding Senior Scholarships
c. Promoting the PUSD College Fair
d. Providing information and resources for career options and college
alternatives.

concessions support, senior mug sales, senior night sales, Parent Party, East of
Eden spa day, Holiday Home tour, Walk for Education Walk-a-thon, Taste of San
Diego, Silpada Jewelry Sales, Cookie Lee sales, and Pampered Chef sales.
