JAMAL FELTON
Head Coach
Jamal Felton is a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School.
During his time as a Sundevil, Jamal played football and
was a part of the track and field team. He continued to
play football while attending the University of Rhode
Island. Jamal has been an influential and well respected
staff member and coach at Westview for 6 years. He
looks forward to coaching this
season. |

TIM MEDLOCK Throwing Coach
Coach Medlock was born and raised right
here in San Diego where he
graduated from
Patrick
Henry High
School. He then went
on to earn his Bachelor of Science Degree in
Kinesiology from San
Diego State University. He has been with the Wolverines since the
school opened, and is in his 8th year coaching
Track and Field at Westview. Coach Medlock is
also an assistant on the football team. Before
coming to Westview he spent a couple of years
teaching and coaching at Mt.
Carmel
and
Scripps Ranch High schools.
JOHN COLSON
Distance Coach
Coach
Colson aka “Coach C” is a graduate of Hoover High School
and San Diego State University. He recently completed
his 48th year as a competitive distance runner getting
his start at age 13 at Hoover. Although he has slowed
down considerably in competition his philosophy is that
there is no better life long activity than running and
he hopes to influence his athletes to discover that
truth. Coach C is in his 11th year of coaching having
spent 6 years at United States International
University (Alliant) and 5 years at Westview. Coach C
is also the head Cross Country Coach at Westview. His
other job is as a practicing podiatrist at Sharp Rees-Stealy
Medical Group. |

Chris Carrera
Pole Vault Coach
Chris Carrera was born and raised in Chula Vista and
attended Eastlake High School. While in high school,
Chris competed on the wrestling and Track & Field teams.
Pole vaulting was definitely Chris’ specialty in track,
as he consistently vaulted 14ft. One of his best pole
vaulting memories was participating in Jan Johnson’s Sky
Jumpers. After high school, Chris served in the Army for
6 years and is currently working for Sharp Health
Care. Coach Carrera is excited to be in his 4th year
of coaching the pole vaulters for the Wolverines! |

RYAN O'HARA
Hurdles Coach
Ryan O’Hara was born and raised in San Diego and
graduated from Westview High School. He currently
attends UCSD and plans on majoring in computer science.
While at Westview, Ryan was a two-sport athlete, playing
both football and competing on the track and field team
all four years. In his senior year, he was honored to
receive Westview’s Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year
award. He is looking forward to his first season
coaching hurdles this year and is very excited to have
this opportunity to come back and coach at his alma
mater. |
