Welcome to Willow Grove!
Willow Grove opened its doors to more than 500 students for the first time on August 19, 2008. Our beautiful new school is one of the last elementary schools built in Poway Unified School District, a district recognized for its academic excellence. Willow Grove is nestled in a valley among rolling hills in the Santa Luz community.
We are proud to boast of the five “Roots of Willow Grove” which include:
- Professional Learning Community – Our teachers are committed to working together for the success of each child
- Cultural Proficiency – Knowing our own values, traditions, backgrounds and recognizing and respecting the cultures of others
- College Readiness – Preparing students so they may choose from a variety of post secondary options
- Rigor, Relevance and Relationships (The Three R’s) – High academic standards for all, connections between learning and the global world, and solid relationships among students, staff, families and the business community
- State of the Art Technology – Assisting students as they learn to learn with access to technology tools such as smart boards, docu-cameras and more
We have been working hard to bring our roots to reality.
Students are our passion. Our dedicated teachers are committed to planning and facilitating learning with lessons aligned to state academic standards, while also meeting the needs socially, physically and emotionally for each child. Our support staff is poised and ready to welcome students and families. We are excited to establish a relationship with our business partner, Dr. Noelle Moser, of Moser Orthodontics. We enjoy incredible support from our two parent organizations, the Willow Grove PTA and Educational Foundation. These two organizations are already up and running, with membership drives in full swing. See the links on our web page to both of these organizations for more information about how to join and offer your helping hands!
With Willow Grove Pride,
Cindy De Clercq
