ABSENCES: It is important that you keep us informed regarding the reason your child is not in school.  Therefore, when your child is absent, we request that you call the 24-Hour Absence Hotline 858-673-3967 before 9:00 am to inform us whether your child is ill or absent for other reasons.  If your child will be absent from school due to anything other than illness, please contact the school office in advance regarding homework and/or a study contract.

TARDIES: Like absences, tardies affect classroom learning time and should be avoided. Students who are late to school must check in through the office. Medical appointments are considered excused tardies. All other tardies are unexcused.

ARRIVAL: Playground supervision will begin at 7:50 AM. Students can be dropped off by the flagpole beginning at 7:40 AM. After 7:50, students in grades 1-5 will walk to the back playground by entering through the gate by ESS or the gates at the front of the school and walking around the outside of the building through the side gates. Students will line up on their classroom number with their teacher and classmates promptly at 8:05 to proceed to their classroom. Students are expected to be in their seats, ready to learn by 8:10.

Kindergarteners and PEPPers will proceed to the kindergarten playground between 7:50 & 8:05. These kiddos will have time to play a bit and then will line up with their teacher and classmates at 8:05.

Students arriving after the 8:10 bell need to come to the office for a late slip before going to class.

DISMISSAL: School dismisses at 2:30 for grades K—5th (except for PEPP students). We respectfully ask that parents NOT meet their children inside the school hallways or by their classroom, as it is a distraction to the learning environment. Please be respectful of student learning time. An option to parking is to use the horseshoe for “drive through” pick up.

Kindergarten students will be handed off directly from teacher to caregiver at the kindergarten gate at 2:30 (beginning 9/10). Kindergarten parents must park in the parking lot (not in the horseshoe) and walk to the gate for reuniting.

EARLY DISMISSAL EVERY FRIDAY Each Friday your full-day kindergarten through 5th grade students will be dismissed at 1:00 to allow our teachers time for professional growth and grade level planning.
