Hello Tierra Bonita Families:
Science Lab Grand Opening:
Thanks to all of you who attended the Grand Opening of our science lab this last Friday. We were fortunate enough to have a School Board Member, several other elementary schools, and the Cheiftan join us for this special event. What a thrill it was to hear both parents and kids "oooh" and "ahhh" as they toured the room for the first time. We are so proud of the community effort that brought this vision to life for our kids. Thank you for your support.
Students will begin their lessons in the lab in late February. The science enrichment team is still looking for volunteers. Each class must have at least one parent volunteer in order to attend the lab every other week. Without this vital piece of the puzzle, we cannot meet the needs of our students and staff with this awesome opportunity. If you are interested in helping or if you have any questions, please contact Jenny Gladheim at jennyglad@cox.net.
Book Fair:
This week is the annual Scholastic Book Fair, February 1st through February 5th. Put on your cozy pj’s and join us Monday night from 6pm-8pm for the Pajama Party kick off event in the LRC. Mrs. Hamilton will read to kids while they enjoy some warm popcorn and browse the Book Fair selection. If you can’t make the Monday night event, be sure to drop in Wednesday morning between 7:15-7:45 am, to make selections with your child. You may also send money to school with your child, to make purchases during their scheduled classroom visit to the book fair. Your classroom teacher will let you know their schedule. If you have specific items you would like you child to purchase, we encourage you to return the completed order form that your child brought home last week. Any questions, contact Laura Martin at (858) 486-5052 or martinfamily@cox.net.
