1. What is the Foundation
The Foundation is a group of parents and staff at Sunset Hills that works together with the principal to identify student and staff needs not met by other means (i.e., school budget, outside the scope of PTA work, etc.) Each year, the Foundation weighs its goals for providing enhanced learning for the students with other particular needs and seeks to support Sunset Hills with the financial means to achieve its standard of excellence.
2. What does the Foundation do?
The Foundation's goal is to enhance and support the educational experience of the students at Sunset Hills.
It becomes more important every year to have technology and up-to-date materials available as part of the educational process.
Over the years, the Foundation has supplied the school with:
| state-of-the-art computer lab. | |
| A television and VCR for every classroom. | |
| Microscopes for science instruction. | |
| Wiring and hardware for Internet access in classrooms. Because of the wiring the Foundation had in place, our school was one of the first to receive new phones in every classroom. | |
| A new PC computer in every classroom. | |
| Classroom supplies. |
3. How does the Foundation raise funds?
The Foundation has three main fundraisers – (1)
eScrip, (2) Entertainment Value Book/Sally Foster sales in the Fall, and (2) the Annual Auction in the
Spring.
The Foundation also has a variety of other fundraisers such as Box Tops for Education, Family Dinner Nights,
Ralphs, Target, Barnes & Noble Book Fairs and more.
4. How can YOU help?
