RB Digital Media was established in 1999 as a new media class at Rancho Bernardo High School. The concept was to immerse students into innovative professional level technology where students have the opportunity to create media projects without limits. With the fundamental structure designed to be student created and managed, students are able to develop innovative collaborative projects.

In the program, students are immersed into media based projects ranging from student films and broadcast journalism to live productions of football games and concerts. Since it's inception the program has maintained a structure that encourages "real world" concepts and partnerships. Students have often collaborated with business and educational programs that enrich the students "world perspective". The students have garnered over 100 awards at the national, state and local level. RB Digital has also been featured in local and national news organizations, websites, and publications.
