September

  • Family begins to consider Financial Aid Planning
  • Plan next two years extra-curricular and community service activities, keep documentation on file.
  • Get your school’s ETS Code Number (RBHS 052536) and be sure to have your social security number.
  • Begin PSAT registration –Sept 13 late fee after Oct 8
  • Attend college presentations in Bronco Center when appropriate
  • Go online UCpathways or CSUmentor..start to keep record-download to app next year.
October
  • Attend North County College Night – Oct 6, 5:30-7:30pm, Carlsbad HS
  • Register for PSAT by Oct 8
  • Take PSAT – October 16
  • Study Hard!
  • Attend college presentations in Bronco Center when appropriate
November
  • November 1 is the only test date for 2003-2004 for SAT II language tests with listening. You must bring a cassette recorder and headphones to the test.

January
  • Jan 10 – PAC (7:45am) College Information Meeting for students who want to apply to 4 year schools.
  • College Information Night in the PAC at 6:30 pm - January 11 Parents ONLY
  • Consider and research colleges. Use handbooks, videos and College View computer program. Visit whenever possible.
  • Using PSAT results, begin to narrow range of colleges
  • Finals – January 21, 22, 23
February
  • ACT – February 12
  • Study hard!
  • Practice for SAT’s
  • Register for SAT 1, ACT w/Writing and SAT II for Spring test dates (early registration equals preferred test site)
  • Keep CSUmentor or UCpathways up to date
March
  • Research interesting and challenging summer courses, job, activity, or community service
  • Begin college visits to nearby colleges
  • March 12 SAT I only
  • Sign up for AP tests at Finance Window
  • Lunchtime workshops for questions and answers pertaining to college admissions – Bronco Center - Every Wednesday
