Welcome to the World Language department.

Dear Parents and Students:

Welcome to the RBHS World Language department!  We are happy that you have chosen to broaden your horizons and come with us on a journey of discovery.  Not only will this course be a content study of language, but also a study of communication, culture, connections to our world, and other cultures in our community.

Before we begin this study, the World Language department and RBHS counseling would like to clarify some basic points regarding our program:

  • World language is a college/university preparatory program.
  • World language is not a RBHS high school graduation requirement.
  • World language is a requirement for entrance to the California university system (Cal State or University of California).
  • Cal State and University of California systems require a minimum of two years of the same language and recommends three years.
  • To fulfill this requirement, a grade of "C" or better must be earned.
  • World language is not a requirement for the community college system.
