French 1-2

French 1-2 is a beginning course which develops the four communication skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing with basic vocabulary, grammar, and idiomatic expressions. Individual and group oral and written exercises provide practice to develop these skills. This course may be used to meet the UC "E" or "F" requirement.

French 3-4 is an intermediate course designed to further develop the four communication skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing with an increased vocabulary, more complicated grammatical structures, and idiomatic expressions. French 5-6 prepares the student for the more advanced work in French structure, communication, and competency. Reading and writing practice is more extensive. The creative ability to use the language orally and in writing is stressed. This course may be used to meet the UC "E" or "F" requirement.

Advanced Placement French 7-8

French 7-8 (Advanced Placement French Language) prepares the student for advanced work in French on the college level and for the Advanced Placement Language test, if it has been preceded by French 1-6. Awareness of French culture is expanded through the study of selected literary works and a survey of French history and literature. Extensive practice for the AP exams is included. This course may be used to meet the UC "E" or "F" requirement.

Advanced Placement French 9-10

Advanced Placement French 9-10 is a course in which the skills developed in French 1-8 are refined through extensive reading, writing, and speaking. The course usually meets at the same time as French 7-8; therefore, students must be self-disciplined enough to work semi-independently. The goal should be to prepare to take the AP French Language Examination. This course may be used to meet the UC "E" or "F" requirement

Advanced Placement German 7-8

Advanced Placement German 7-8 prepares the student for advanced work in German on the college level and for the Advanced Placement Language Examination. The culture of Germany is investigated through the study of literature, history, and current political, social, and economic trends in Germany. Extensive practice for the AP exam is included. Students should be self-disciplined enough to work semi-independently. This course may be used to meet the UC "E" or "F" requirement.

Topics mya include: politics, current events, entertainment, sports, environment, history, geography, the art, cultural diversity of Hispanics. This course may be used to meet the UC "E" or "F" requirement.

Advanced Placement Spanish 1-2

Advanced Placement Spanish Language refines the skills required for advanced work equivalent to a third year college-level course and for the AP Language examination. Filipino Language 1-2

Filipino 1-2 introduces students to the Filipino language. The course will help students develop the skills required to conduct basic conversations. Conversational skills will be enhanced. Culture and history will be integrated as the student learns the language. This course meets the UC/CSU Foreign Language requirement.
