DESCRIPTION – The Poway Unified School District
is located in a suburban community 15 miles
northeast of San Diego. It is a primarily middle to
upper-middle income residential community.
POPULATION - The population of the area is
approximately 166,900 with a Poway Unified School
District population of approximately 33,000 students
K-12. The student enrollment of Rancho Bernardo
High School comes from the communities of Poway,
Rancho Bernardo, Rancho de los Penasquitos,
Sabre Springs and Carmel Mountain Ranch.

FACILITIES -Rancho Bernardo High School is
designed with 84 standard 9-12 classrooms, 30 labs,
9 classrooms for special education students, library,
multi-level gymnasium with seating for 1800, a 14-lane
pool, shower/locker facilities, multi-purpose room,
administration building, central serving and food preparation
kitchen, stadium with all-weather track and
playing field, and a 370-seat performing arts theater
complex which includes dressing, rehearsal, band
and choral instruction rooms. Total size: 224,781
square feet.
FACULTY -The 2008-2009 faculty includes 109
teachers, 12 special ed teachers, 4 administrators,
7 counselors, 1 librarian, 1 school psychologist and
2 speech therapists.
