PARK VILLAGE ELEMENTARY PTA
 ASSOCIATION MEETING

Date:  April 2, 2009

The meeting was called to order at 6:03 p.m. at the Park Village Elementary Multipurpose Room.  Kim Wilkins, President, presided.

WELCOME & INTRODUCTIONS

Ricardo Cecena welcomed everyone.  He asked parents to please fill out the survey in the classrooms.  Ricardo stated that he will not be doing a principal chat this evening.  There is a possibility we will have one in the next few weeks.

Kim Wilkins thanked everyone for attending.  Also, thanks to the Nominating Committee.  She recognized all the board members for the year and thanked them for all their hard work as well as the parent volunteers.  Kim asked parents to please sign the letters to legislatures about the budget crisis.

Restaurant Night went very well.  Also, spirit wear sales have been doing very well during DADS lunch and before school.

MINUTES:  The minutes of the March 12, 2009 meeting are approved as printed.

- State PTA Convention delegates...Kim Wilkins, Kim Latta,  and Julia Kitts.
- Cyndy Payne made a motion to approve the above delegates and give them the authority to vote in a manner consistent with PTA goals and objectives.  CARRIED.

TREASURER'S REPORT:
- Checking Transaction:  The report for the beginning balance on hand as of March 11, 2009 is $20,659.00.  The report for the balance on hand as of April 1, 2009 is $19,102.49.
- Money Market Transaction:  No activity on this account this month.
- Treasurer's Report is filed for audit.
- Cyndy Payne made a motion to ratify disbursements for checks numbered 3982 through 3991.  CARRIED.
- Beth Kiernan made a motion to release funds up to their budgeted amount until the next meeting.  CARRIED.

FINANCIAL SECRETARY'S REPORT:
- Total monies received for the dates of March 11, 2009 through April 1, 2009 are $1,704.14.
- Total monies deposited for the dates of March 11, 2009 through April 1, 2009 are $1,704.14.
- Report is filed for audit.

ANNOUNCEMENTS AND ADJOURNMENT:
- PTA is looking for chairpersons for next year's board.  If interested, please contact Kim Wilkins.  Every little bit of help counts.
- Parent Education Night is coming up on April 16.
- DADS Olympics is also coming up in the next month.
- One of the Daisy Troops is putting on a Safety Fair...May 9 to coincide with - Pancake Breakfast.  Look for more information in the Flash.
- PTA will be sponsoring a babysitting course on May 28.  Space is limited to 25 students.
- Spring Break is next week.
- Thanks to the PTA and Foundation.
