Purpose:
The purpose of our Foundation is to provide additional financial support to Pomerado Elementary School. Donations enable the school to enhance the learning experience for our children today and students of the future.

How Are Funds Raised:
Most of our funds are raised through “non-selling” tactics. The Foundation hosts events and programs throughout the school year to allow our school to earn money. The Foundation is not in competition with the PTA. In fact, it was formed to allow us access to additional unrestricted funds to assist our school. By charter, the PTA is limited to fund-raising in order to support its own programs.

For example, The Foundation raises money by using the Albertsons Community Partner Card developed by Albertsons Grocery Stores and Sav-On Drug Stores as well as participating in eScrip. The Foundation is running a Dime-A-Day Campaign this fall, and the annual Fun Run in the Spring to raise funds. Your donations are tax deductible, and all the funds raised benefit our school.

Dime-A-Day Campaign
What is a dime worth? By itself, it cannot purchase much these days. However, a collection of dimes adds up. The Pomerado Elementary School Foundation is asking everyone to pledge at least a dime a day for the number of school days (180 days) to help raise money for new technology and necessary classroom supplies for our kids at school.

Albertson's Card:
Community Partner cards can be picked up from the school office and then linked to a new or existing Albertons Preferred Savings Card. To activate the link, give the Community Partner card to your Albertsons/Sav-On cashier along with your blue Preferred Savings Card. The cashier will link the two cards and Pomerado Elementary will start earning money to be used in your child’s classroom. (Once the cards are linked you do not have to show the Community Partner Card again.) Be sure to pass the Community Partner Card on to friends or family who wish to help. Through this partnership with Albertsons and Sav-On, Pomerado has the opportunity to earn up to $7200 annually. Thank you in advance for participating in this easy, no cost to you fund-raising effort.

Steps to register:
1. Log onto www.escrip.com
2. Enter Pomerado's group name: Pomerado Elementary School
3. Register your grocery (especially Von's) and credit/debit cards

Please attend one of our meeting if you are interested in participating in the Pomerado Foundation. Our meetings are announced in the school newsletter, Stuff You Should Know and the school website.
