Scrip Fundraiser

Fifth Grade Boosters are continuing the "scrip" fundraising program. Scrip is simply a word that means "substitute money" – in other words, scrip is gift certificates from national and local retailers. They’re the same gift certificates that you buy at the store. Many popular retailers participate in our scrip program including JCPenney, The Gap, Shell, Pizza Hut, Red Lobster and many, many others.

You’re probably asking yourself how these stores help us raise money. It’s simple -- scrip participating retailers agree to sell gift certificates to our organization at a discount. Member families like yours buy the certificates for full face value, they redeem them for full face value, and our school keeps the difference as revenue. And scrip is exciting, because everybody wins: The retailer gets cash up front and repeat business... You get a powerful fundraising alternative that involves no selling... Our school gets a regular source of revenue.

The beauty of scrip is that you put your regular household shopping dollars to work. You earn money for our school without spending a single additional penny. Just spend your regular shopping dollars with scrip at the stores that participate in the scrip program! And scrip can be used for just about any household purchase including food, clothing, entertainment, gasoline and even dining out. Watch for the order dates which will be limited.

The Boosters prefer cash orders, but checks payable to "Pomerado Elementary" will also be accepted. Place orders in a sealed envelope labeled “gift card fundraiser” and turn in to a 5^th grade teacher or the office.

Even though this is a 5^th grade fundraiser—SOMEDAY YOU WILL BE A 5^TH GRADER- and benefit from what is earned. We encourage every family at Pomerado Elementary to participate in this fundraiser!!

It is so easy to participate. Here is what you do:

1. Look for Box Tops for Education on many of the items you purchase at the grocery store (i.e. Betty Crocker, Hamburger helper, Top Secret Popcorn, Ziploc bags, Kleenex boxes etc… a more extensive list is located with the drop off receptacles or visit www.boxtops4education.com to see all the participating products - there are more than you think.

2. Clip off the coupon before recycling the box.

3. Bring the coupons to school and put in the receptacles located in the Office or one of the 5^th grade classrooms.
    
4. Another easy way to help our school is to register at the Box Tops website. You’ll get updates on our school’s Box Tops earnings, money-saving coupons, family-pleasing recipes, chances to win Bonus Box Tops, the latest Box Tops news and much, much more. Best of all, it’s absolutely free!
