About Our
School Counselor
Our School Counselor is Victoria Cull, MA MS. You
can contact her directly at 858-748-1320 x2210 or via email at
lcull@powayusd.com. Following is
information about
Ms. Cull, and how she helps our students and their
families.
As the credentialed mental health professional
on staff Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, I work with students,
families and staff to help students experience success at school.
Through individual and small group counseling, through whole class lessons, collaboration with teachers and other
mental health professionals, I help students gain insight into
themselves and others, enhance self-concept, and achieve skills in
problem solving and decision-making.
I also supervise our PIP (Primary Interaction
Program) and Student Support Services.
Please feel free to contact me at any time if
I can be of assistance to you and your child!

Student Support
Services
This wonderful program is run by Shannon Beeler.
It includes whole class lessons delivered to the primary grades on
empathy, impulse control and feelings management. Shannon then follows
up with lessons learned to make sure students are able to carry them out
on the playground in their interactions with other children.
PIP (Primary Interaction
Program)
PIP
is capably staffed by Caryn Harris and Judy Cable. PIP has three
components: activity room, small group lessons, and playground follow
through. The small group lessons use the curricula Second Step, which
deals again with empathy, impulse control and feelings management, and
Stages which addresses issues children deal with when families are
experiencing change such as separation/divorce, a geographic move or
even the birth of a new sibling.
