High School MOCK SAT/ACT |

MOCK SAT or MOCK ACT REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Monday, January 28, 2008 WHEN: Saturday February 2, 2008 WHERE: Poway High School TIME: 9:00am – 2:00pm (Arrive at least 15 minutes early and report to classroom) Doors close PROMPTLY at 9:00am \This is an opportunity to take an actual SAT or ACT test for practice without it showing up on an official record. Ten days after testing on Monday, February 11th from 6-7pm students will receive a personal analysis of his or her results, identifying individual strengths and weaknesses. The Princeton Review will provide a comprehensive report detailing your student’s aggregate performance on the test compared with the national average. 1. What is the difference between the SAT and ACT? § SAT is 30% Verbal, 40% Math, 30% Writing § ACT is 25% English, 25% Math, 25% Reading, and 25% Science Reasoning § Most colleges and universities accept either SAT or ACT. University of California prefers the SAT. 2. Who could benefit from taking the MOCK tests? § Freshman or Sophomores who want the experience of taking the SAT or ACT off the record § Juniors preparing for the official SAT on 3-1-08,5-3-08,6-7-08 or the official ACT on 2-9-08, 4-12-08, 6-14-08. STUDENTS: Please bring #2 pencils, a calculator, and a snack on test day. There will be 2 short breaks. IMPORTANT: Room assignments will be posted outside the Counseling Department on Wednesday January 30, 2008. TEST WILL BE GIVEN IN THE “N” CLASSROOMS: If you don’t find your name on the list or have any questions, call Sioux Duddy at 858 486 9179 or send an email to stepbystep97@yahoo.com.
