Letter to Parents for Prize Donations

April 2006

Dear Senior Parents of the Class of 2006:

On behalf of the Poway High School Grad Nite Prize Committee, we are seeking prize donations for the Class of 2006. As in previous years, we are asking each family of a graduating senior to make a prize or cash donation. Please note: All donations are tax-deductible.

The Prize Committee is currently soliciting local businesses for donations. We are dependent on your generosity and that of our local community to help provide a wide range of prizes during the Grad Nite celebration. Our hope is that each graduate will be able to leave Grad Nite with a gift. A wide variety of prizes, entertainment, food, and friends encourage our seniors to attend this safe, alcohol and drug-free event. We have 660 graduating seniors this year and expect that at least 80% will be attending Grad Nite.

Our committee would like to suggest ideas for your consideration. You may work at a business, which has budgeted “community funding” used for donations such as this. Season ticket holders may want to consider donating one night of tickets. Many of you frequent a favorite restaurant, a regular hairdresser or other establishment. When asked by a valued-customer, these businesses have been very generous. Please see the attached “Wish List” for additional ideas.

Your prizes, gift certificates, or checks should be made payable to: “PHS Grad Nite,” and may be dropped off at the PHS front office. You may also send your donations or gift cards to:
