PART 1: Responsible Computer Use
The library has 90 computers for student use. Teachers may send students on a pass or sign up their class to use the computers. Unless you have a pass or are off-roll, you may not be in the library during class time.

Students must have their ID card in order to use a computer. |
To use a computer while visiting the Library simply place your ID card in the wooden slot located on top of the computer. The computers are for school related use only, you must follow the computer use rules posted by your workstation and listed below.
No e-mail without permission (you may e-mail documents home or retrieve them for printing) e-mail must be school related. |

No games |

No chat rooms, instant messenger, or posting to bulletin boards |
|
No changing screen settings (wallpaper, screen saver, resolution, etc.) may result in loss of computer privileges |

No downloading of software or music files, etc. |

Printing: The library has 2 laser printers; one black and white and one color. Printouts are 15¢ a page for black and white; 50¢ a page for color |
PART 2: Helpful Hints for Computers in the Library
Novell Login: Log On! Each time you use a computer in the library, login to the Novell network.
Location: Student
Username: ID NUMBER
Password: 6 character birthdate (mmddyy)
Save documents to your Novell network folder. Log off when you're done.

Diskettes: Diskettes can be purchased for 25¢ at the front desk. Backup your work to your network folder--diskettes often get bent or damaged and aren't reliable. Flash Drives can be used in the front USB ports of each computer. |
| Save Often: That's our motto. Save every minute--save before printing--save after each paragraph... Library computers are on all day and are used heavily--save your work often (to your network folder) to avoid the tragedy of lost work from a frozen computer! | ![]() |
