BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY for Personal Computers

Transferable college credit course. Business Technology provides basic and advanced training using Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, and PowerPoint, with emphasis on the “World of Work” and Life after High School. Students gain skills in file management using Windows and have exposure to “Programming with Alice”, a 3D programming software, for beginning programmers. This course will give students the necessary skills to compete and be effective in college and the work place environments, gaining lifetime computer and career skills and time management organization. Students also learn about job preparation skills, computer ethics, computer hardware and basic network structures

Introduction to Computers provides an introduction to software application skills using the Microsoft Ô Office Suite. The course presents basic to advanced use of the Windows Environment, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Publisher and MS PowerPoint. Throughout the class, projects are assigned that require students to perform Internet research, utilize technical reading skills, and prepare well-written and correctly formatted papers and letters.
