6Th GRADE OLYMPICS VOLUNTEER INSTRUCTIONS 2009
Thank you for volunteering to help with the 6th grade Olympics on Friday, May 22nd (or Marathon, Wednesday May 20th)
We couldn’t do it without your help!!! Here are a few reminders to help make the day run a smoothly as possible:
- On the morning of your assignment, please check-in at the front office to pick up a visitor’s badge or use your Volunteer Badge if you have one. If you are doing set up on 5/22, proceed directly to the lower field by the shed.
- Proceed to the lower field, and check-in at the Volunteer table located at the bottom of the long ramp. From there, you will be directed to the location of your event.
- If you are signed up as a "Rover" you will first work the Volunteer Table signing people in and directing them to their locations. Please be sure you are on time so you can be slightly ahead of the rest of the scheduled volunteers.
- We have trained several of our 8th grade students to basically “run” the field events. Your job is to assist them, while being an “adult presence.” Please make sure that spectators are behind the designated flags..and notify Coach Yonekura if any student (participant or spectator) displays inappropriate behavior.
- Feel free to leave your station to watch your own child in their events. Please just let another person at your station know. J
- An “order of events” will be posted on the shed with the approximate time for each running event.
- Enjoy your day!!
- Don’t forget sunscreen, hat, snacks, and plenty of water!!!
Thanks again for your help…We appreciate it!!!
