With the severe budget cuts that we are facing this year, we are counting on your support more than ever before.  The Foundation’s goal is to provide the additional financial resources necessary to support the level of excellence at Mesa Verde that we have all come to appreciate and expect.  This will be a challenging year due to the diminished budget, but we can do it with your support.    Mesa Verde is fortunate to have most of our staff in place, but not without significant cuts in other areas.

Here's How You Can Support Your Foundation's Efforts:

eScrip – Contact:  Kathleen Sorensen
Electronic Scrip Incorporated (ESI) is a California-based corporation dedicated to establishing relationships between commerce and community -- to provide resources to organizations and projects that support children. The eScrip program allows participating merchants to contribute a percentage of your purchases made with grocery loyalty cards, credit cards, and debit/ATM cards to the school or organization of your choice.  Mesa Verde Middle School, like many PUSD schools, has been participating in the eScrip program for several years.  From current participation, the Mesa Verde Foundation receives proceeds averaging about $900 per month. 

  
How does the eScrip program work?
Simply register online at www.eScrip.com.  There is no special card to get, just register your existing grocery loyalty cards, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diner’s Club, debit/ATM cards and merchant cards such as OfficeMax and use them when you shop. These merchants have agreed to donate a percentage of your expenditures to your school/organization of choice.  ESI takes care of all bookkeeping.  All merchant donations are deposited into the account of your organization of choice monthly using the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) system.


What about security of my personal information?
ESI places a tremendous value on the relationships it has with eScrip program participants across the country. Safeguarding personal information is one of their highest commitments. ESI will not license, sell, exchange or distribute any specific information about its eScrip participants to any third parties who are not directly involved in the eScrip program. By participating in the eScrip program, you are authorizing ESI to use information relating to your registered card transactions for the limited purposes of processing rebates to your designated organization and providing cumulative reports to your organization. No purchase details are given to ESI for the eScrip program. The eScrip program uses state-of-the art technology for customer support and administration. These systems have met strict requirements, in the areas of security and safety, of participating merchants and processors. Jog-a-thon – Contact:  Mary Reynolds and/or Karen Burns
A spring event which typically raises $20,000 to $25,000 to support a specific MV goal.  Please join us on the field for this event!

Volunteer to help find and write grants for Mesa Verde.

Please consider making a donation of $100.00.  In the last several years we have used Foundation donations to support class size reduction, technology, and to support literally every department on campus: humanities, science, math, physical education, and electives (art, orchestra, band, drama, engineering, Spanish, etc…).

Classroom Challenge

Help enrich the educational opportunities for Mesa Verde students by participating in the Mesa Verde Foundation eScrip drive. The Foundation currently earns about $900.00 a month from eScrip. If more Mesa Verde parents, relatives, and friends register for eScrip we have the potential to earn $1500 or more a month without any cost to parents.
 
Prizes
The top class from each grade level will get coupons for a free cookie or slushie for each student

The teacher with the most new registrations will receive a $1000.00 to buy technology for their classroom

There are several ways to participate in the eScrip Challenge:

  1. Register Vons Club cards, credit, and/or debit cards with eScrip
  2. If you have already registered your cards, recruit relatives and friends to sign up for eScrip. Participants can live anywhere in the United States.

To register:

  1. Log on to www.eScrip.com and select the “Step One- Sign-Up” button.
  2. Enter Mesa Verde Foundation’s Group ID-    6663739
  3. Register your Vons Club cards, credit, and/or debit card.
  4. Upon registration simply fill out the eScrip Verification Form and return it to your child’s 1st period teacher. 

More Contest Details!

  1. Each new Vons Club, credit and or debit card registered under the same person’s name will count as separate registrations.
  2. If you have more than one child at Mesa Verde, each registrant verified will count for a point for each of your children’s first period teachers.
  3. Please include all teachers that you would like to receive credit on the verification. (Example: If Mary Jones has two children, one in Room A and one in Room B, she should write the name of both teachers on the verification forms for each of her cards registered).
  4. Do you have kids in more than one school?  No problem, you can choose up to 3 designated organizations. 
  5. We will be keeping the students and teachers updated regularly throughout the contest during morning announcements. 
  6. Please fill out only one form for each card registered. We will give credit for any new accounts registered after August 1, 2009. We cannot give credit for forms that have been returned if the online registration process has not been completed.
