NEW MRES WEBSITE
I am very pleased to announce that our new school website is now up and running. There are many new features. For instance, there is now a school calendar that lists all school events including PTA and Foundation events; a link to update your contact information including changing telephone numbers or emergency contacts; pictures from school: a link to Compass Learning; all Monarch (e)Mails; our Single Plan for Student Achievement; and many other features. A HUGE thanks is owed to Mrs. Harvey and Millie Swain, our district web developer, for all of their hard work!!!! Check out our new website.

OK PACKETS GOING GREEN
In an effort to save resources and be more environmentally friendly we will soon be moving away from sending home paper OK packets and towards sending an electronic version of the packet. All of the information that you get on paper will be available on the website. We hope that you will embrace and support our efforts to go green. In this time of decreasing resources we are trying very hard to conserve where possible. More information will be forthcoming soon.

STUDENT COUNCIL LOLLIPOP SANTA GRAMS
Student Council is selling Lollipop Santa Grams for $1. This is a wonderful opportunity to send a special little treat to your child or have them send a special treat to a friend or teacher. Forms were sent home in the OK packet last week and are available in the office. They will be delivered to classrooms the week of December 15th.

COFFEE WITH THE PRINCIPAL
I hope you will join me for Coffee with Principal on Friday, December 12 immediately following Friday Flag. This is a great opportunity to discuss activities that you can use at home to support your child’s learning, share information about programs at school, and take time to answer questions.

WINTER BAND CONCERT
This Thursday, December 11th is our Winter Band concert. Parents of 4th and 5th Grade students are invited to attend a band concert in the MPR room 10:00 -11:00

BLOOD DRIVE
The Poway High Dance Team has organized a blood drive which will take place on December 13 in Poway to benefit two Poway students who need lifesaving blood transfusions. It will take place from 10 AM to 3 PM in the Ultra Star Cinema. All donors will receive a free movie ticket to Ultra Star. For more information please contact Timi Lyons at (858) 837-4439 or via email at timi.lyons@verizon.net for more information.

FOUNDATION
Recycling

Don’t forget to bring your plastic bottles and cans to the flagpole this Thursday. Hopefully we can top the amount of recycled materials that our students delivered last month. I look forward to seeing you at the flagpole this Thursday.

Dine Out
This Thursday is Dine Out night at Chili’s Restaurant. Come enjoy some good food and help raise funds for our school.

Dr. Rich Newman.
