PROMETHEAN BOARDS
I am pleased to announce that 21 new Promethean boards began being installed
yesterday. These interactive white boards offer an opportunity to transform
the classroom into a truly interactive learning environment.
PROGRO DAY
Yesterday our entire staff, teachers and instructional assistants, engaged
in a productive day of learning. Our instructional assistants focused on
learning two literacy programs. The teachers and I focused on diving deeper
into our math program and analyzing the formative assessments we use at each
grade level to assess student progress.
THE FINAL COUNTDOWN FOR GREEN OK PACKETS NEARS
In less than two weeks our OK packets will be sent electronically. Once we
make the switch we will send you a ConnectEd email each Wednesday with a
link to our website (www.powayusd.com/pusdmres) where the packet will be
available in a PDF format. A big thank you is owed to the PTA for all of
their hard work in helping make the transformation a reality.
COFFEE WITH THE PRINCIPAL
Immediately following Friday Flag I will be hosting Coffee with the
Principal. I hope you will join me for an opportunity to discuss happenings
around our school as well as activities you can engage at home with your
child.
STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK
February 2-6 is Staff Appreciation week. I love this week because it is a
time that is specifically carved out to say thanks to our teachers and staff
for the work they do each and every day. I believe deeply that teaching is
the core of social change, and there is nothing more central to a student's
success at school than the impact of a teacher. I hope you will take some
time over the next few weeks and reflect upon the critical role your child’s
teacher plays in helping shape the future of our society. I look forward to
you joining me during Staff Appreciation Week in taking a moment to
celebrate your child’s teacher and letting them know how highly you think of
them and how they are positively impacting your child.

Friday, January 30 is Pajama Day.
PTA
Board Meeting
This Thursday will be our PTA Board meeting from 6:30 – 7:30 PM. All parents
are welcome to attend.
FOUNDATION
Talent Show
Our Foundation members have graciously agreed to host practice/review dates
each Wednesday after school from 1:40pm-2:20pm. Please make sure to schedule
a time for your child to have her/his act reviewed. All acts need to be seen
in advance of the Talent Show. If your child is a registered participant and
you have not heard from Suneethi Gudapti, please email suneethig@hotmail.com
asap.
