ICE CREAM SALES
Wednesday, May 27 will be the last ice cream sale of the school year. A huge
thanks is owed to our PTA parents who ensure that a cold ice cream is
available for sale each and every Wednesday.
MRES LIBRARY
Our library has closed for the year and we are now in the process of
inventorying books and ordering materials for next year. Please make sure
that your child returns all library books. Thanks Mrs. Sellers for a great
year in the library.
SPIRIT DAY
Friday, May 29 is Crazy Hair day. I am looking forward to seeing some cool
hair styles.
API REVISIONS
I have recently received several questions regarding the newly released API
scores. In short, the state recently revised every school’s API score from
last school year. The new scores are not based on the STAR tests we took
this school year. Those results will be available in August. Rather, the
state revised all scores based on a few factors. At the elementary level,
scores were revised based on the fact that the CAT/6 Assessment, which is
part of the STAR test and has previously been given at third grade, was
eliminated as a test this school year, and the inclusion of scores from the
California Modified Assessment (CMA) in grades 3 through 5.
