ENROLLMENT FORM FOR NEXT SCHOOL YEAR

Last week, as part of our e-Packet, we sent home a form asking each of you to let us know whether or not you plan on having your child return to MRES next year, whether your child will definitely not be returning, or if you are uncertain about your plans for next year. If you have returned the form thank you. If you have not, we ask that you please do so by Wednesday of this week. The form can be located on the MRES PTA website located at http://www.mrespta.org/epackets/ This form will help us more accurately predict enrollment for next school year. Please make sure to fill out one form for each of your children. As always, thanks for your support.

BREAKFAST OF CHAMPIONS
On Friday, May 22 we will once again be honoring our Character Counts Students of the Month at our Student Council led Breakfast of Champions before Friday Flag. As I am certain you are aware, our commitment to character education is strong. We want to celebrate students who exhibit the behaviors of the Pillar of Character we emphasize each month. Over the course of the school year we celebrate the six Pillars (Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship) to help us bring character education alive and provide a barometer to help guide our students' decision making. Thanks again for joining us in helping build the minds and characters of our students.

PASTA FOR PENNIES
I am thrilled to announce that we raised over $2500 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through our Pasta for Pennies campaign. Pasta for Pennies supports the fight against blood-related cancers, helps fund important life-saving initiatives and provides critical services to patients and their families. I am thrilled our students had a chance to participate in this important fundraiser. A big thank you is owed to Mrs. Mahoney for organizing our efforts. The winning class will be announced this week.

YEARBOOK
Don’t forget to purchase your yearbook. Supplies are limited.

PARENT CLIMATE SURVEY
Next week we will be sending out a Parent Climate Survey to gather your perceptions of our school and to hear your thoughts on how we can continue to be a school of the highest quality. We look forward to hearing from you and continuing to ensure that MRES is a school that puts children first.

MEMORIAL DAY
There will be no school on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

Dr. Rich Newman.
