ADULT STATUS

If you have turned 18 and would like to find out about adult status, please join Ms. Salo in Room U-7 at lunch on Friday, February 27.  You must attend this meeting if you want to get your Adult Status.

 

CSF

CSF will be collecting application forms in front of Ms. Kelley’s office all week starting tomorrow. Don’t forget your transcript and money.  Everything must be sealed in an envelope!

 

GRAD NITE TICKETS

This is your last chance to purchase your tickets for $70, Next month they will go up again. Please first visit the GRAD NITE website at http://www.mchs-gradnite.com/. Print three forms.  :  
1. Ticket form 2. Student Waiver  3. Illusionist Waiver 
Bring all 3 completed forms plus your payment of cash or check made out to MCHS Grad Nite 2009 to school THIS Thursday. As always, you may drop off your signed, completed forms, and your payment, to Mary Ellen anytime.   Stop by the Grad Nite Table Near the Student store to drop off your forms and see a sample of the T-Shirt that comes with your ticket purchase AND the Incredible Mug you can buy. The Mug will have the entire class list on it, making it memorable and practicable. 

 

SMOKING

Marijuana affects your brain. THC (the active ingredient in marijuana) affects the nerve cell in the part of the brain where memories are formed.

 

MARCH 13

Valley Elementary School is looking for volunteers for their Silent Auction Fundraiser on March 13 from 5-9 p.m. Contact Student Services for details.

 

NEW/USED DVD’S

MCHS Interact Club is collecting new and used DVD’s, videos and books for patients at Children’s Hospital. They can be in English or Spanish/  Many patients spend long hours in a hospital bed with no one to talk to. Please drop off donations to Mrs. M in U-1.

 

HOMEWORK CLUB

Los Pen Homework Club, Sunset Hills Elementary and Black Mt. all are looking for volunteers to help with students after school. If you need Community Service hours this is an excellent way to assist others while helping to accumulate hours. Contact Student Services if you are interested.

CLUB PRESIDENTS

Do your members need to complete some community service hours for your club commitment?  Encourage them to sign-up to volunteer at the WGASC Winter Guard Tournament on February 28.  There are a variety of volunteer positions available at various times throughout the day.  It is a great way to log some hours in and have fun too.  Anyone who is interested can sign up for shifts online at www.mchsbnad.com/tournament/sptringvolunteers or contact Donna Manley at (858)672-9263.

 

CERRO COSO COMMUNITY COLLEGE

A Community College with on-campus housing and near Mammoth Ski Resort.  Come find out more. A representative from Cerro Coso Community College will be in the Sun Center February 25 at 122:30 p.m.  Sign-up on Prep HQ to learn more.

 

COMMUNITY COLLEGE NIGHT

Community College Night will be Tuesday, February 24 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Poway Performing Arts Center.  A panel of reps from Palomar, Miramar, Mesa College, Cerro Coso and Grossmont will be presenting.

I-9 FORMS

Our district has been cited for not having completed I-9 forms on file for all employees These are the federal forms verifying a person’s right to work in the United States.  The form is at Mary Ellen’s desk and needs just a few blocks filled in by each employee.  Each of you also needs to attach a copy of your current driver’s license.  The district has asked that these forms be completed before February 26.
