To help keep the library a quiet place, we limit the number of students at each table to
four. For those who want silence while studying, the Reference Room is a designated Silent
Study Area.

Because food and drink can damage library materials and equipment and
attract insects, eating and drinking are not allowed in the library.
In order to maintain an appropriate atmosphere in the library, we ask students to
refrain from sitting on the tables, or the floor, and to push in the chairs and pick up
after themselves when they leave the library. This includes: throwing trash into the
wastebaskets, replacing magazines and newspapers to their correct location, returning
books to the appropriate "Place books here to be reshelved" locations in the
stacks or the book carts at the front desk, and pushing chairs back under the tables.
Students who consistently do not follow the library's rules will be issued a referral
and possible lose their library privileges for a period of a week or two. Students who
repeatedly do not follow the library's rules are subject to loss of library privileges for
the remainder of the school year.
