No gum, food, or drink is permitted in the library.
Students must present their current Mt. Carmel ID card to check out materials.
A
maximum of five items is permitted, with a limit of three items on one subject.
Most books
may be checked out for a two-week period and may be renewed unless a hold has been placed
on the item. Reference books are checked out after school for overnight only and
periodicals are checked out for overnight only.
Overdue fines - library books - are charged at the rate of 10 cents per school day.
Overdue
reference books have a fine of $1.00 per day, as it is important that these materials are
present during the school day for class and patron use.
Students who have overdue books or fines may not check out any library materials until
they pay their fines and/or return their books and/or pay for lost books.
Overdue notices
are given to the students via their 3rd period class. If a student who pays for a lost
book, later finds the book, the payment will be refunded minus a $5.00 service fee.
Students may not use a friend's ID card or their ID number to check out materials.
The reference room is designated as a silent study area. Quiet conversation is permitted
in the main library area.
