Academics at DNHS

New Electives

As a result of new enrollments, we are now able to offer several new, exciting electives not found on our CRF (course request form).  They include Geography (recommended for students interested in taking AP European History or AP World History) and

Geography and World Cultures

This class is open to 9th and 10th grade students, and is an excellent course for those of you interested in taking AP History as well as those who just want to develop their knowledge of our global footprint.

Learning Lab

This class is recommended for students who are worried about the workload of high school or simply a student who needs a quiet and supportive environment in which to do their homework or study for tests. Formally trained teaching interns and academic tutors will be available to help you meet all your academic goals.

Accelerated Science Sequence

9th grade students or 10th graders who have not completed biology previously can take three trimesters of science. If science is your thing, you can actually take the first half of biology and all of chemistry this year and next year finish up biology and take AP Bio. That’s three years of science in two years!
