Here are reminders regarding add/drops for Tri 2.
- The add/drop deadline is Dec. 9th , Wed which is the 13th school day.
- Any add/drops after the deadline will count as a “WF” (withdraw fail) for the class being dropped and no credit/grade for the class being added.
- Students with legitimate schedule changes can fill out a “schedule change request form” (URL link to attachment); hard copies available in the counseling center.
- Students with legitimate schedule changes can come to the counseling center during the period in question.
- Please click on this link (URL link to “acceptable correction” pdf) to review acceptable/unacceptable requests for schedule changes.
Yearbook Sales ~ Yearbooks are being sold out of the finance office from November 16-20. There are only 125 yearbooks left. The cost of the yearbook is $55.00 and will increase by $5.00 after this week. Checks should be made out to Del Norte High School.
Yearbook Pictures ~ If anyone has boys’ water polo pictures, please upload them to our e-share website at www.hjeshare.com and the school code is 2013052, or you can send them to traditionsyearbook@yahoo.com
An Evening in Paris ~ Del Norte's very first dance will take place on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009. The duration is from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Pro Sounds will be the DJ for the event. Come with your friends or with a date. Tickets can be purchased at the finance office for the following prices:
November 16 - 20 $15 each
Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 $20 each
Dec. 2 - 4 $25 each
Guest passes can be obtained at this website or the finance office. The last day to turn in a guest pass is Monday, Dec. 2, 2009. Guest Pass Contract.
Adopt-A-Family ~ The Del Norte PTSA is proud to participate in the annual Adopt-A-Family program, sponsored by the Palomar Council PTA. Each year, PUSD families in need are identified by school counselors, and are given an opportunity to be recipients of this community outreach program during the holiday season.
Del Norte has committed to sponsor 10 families this year!
It is our hope that, as you look at the beautiful educational facility we are all privileged to attend, you would be generous in giving to those that are less fortunate this holiday season. Click here for more details

Library/tutorial time ~ Beginning Tuesday, Oct 20th the library will be open, during tutorials, for students with all As or Bs on their six week progress reports. Students MUST have a copy of their progress report in order to enter the library during tutorial time
Counseling home - Mr. Tahapary is available to assist students with academic, college, career and social/emotional needs. We are prepared to help students with a four-year high school program, college and career planning, as well as trade and technical vocations. If you have questions about your graduation status or about the kinds of electives which are most appropriate to your particular goals, any counselor can help you.

WINTER SPORTS PARENT MEETING

SUBJECT: Winter Sports Meeting The Winter season has arrived! If you’re child is trying out or made a team for the Winter season, join us for a group meeting and break out session on Thursday November 19th from 6:00 - 8:00 in the Performing Arts Center. Information presented will cover; athletic department expectations and general information for the upcoming season. After our general meeting, you will be meeting with your student-athletes coach to review specific rules, schedules, and other key topics. Thank you for taking the time to attend, I look forward to a great season.

Track & Field ~ There will be a Track and Field Interest Meeting on Thursday, November 19th, at Lunch time, in room J101 for any students interested in Winter Track Club and/or Spring Track & Field.
Winter Sports ~ Come one, come all. Have you signed up yet to play a winter sport? Do you want to play basketball, soccer, wrestling, girls water polo or roller hockey. Then come by the Athletics office for more information. Also, if you haven’t picked up your ticket to play yet for your winter sport, come by the athletics office after school today.
Boys Soccer ~ Tryouts for the Boy's soccer program will be held from Monday, November 16-20th, on the back grass soccer fields from 4:00 to 6:00 pm daily. All players should bring their boots, shinguards, running shoes and water. Also, each player must have a “Ticket to Play” from the Athletic Department in order to participate in the tryouts. Cross Country ~ Girls’ Cross Country Congratulations to the girls cross country team for participating in their first varsity level meet, the Valley League Finals this past weekend. The girls place 6th overall as a team, ahead of both Oceanside and Orange Glen. Great job girls, and good luck at CIF Finals this week!
Wresting Christmas Tree Fundraiser ~ The holidays are just around the corner. Before you know it many us will be decking the halls and hitting the malls. We all know how busy this time of year can be. Why not take one thing off your list and support your school at the same time? The Del Norte Wrestling Team’s annual Christmas Tree Drive begins on October 9th. Click here to learn how you can order your tree today.

Sports Day – Wed., November 18 - Dress up in your favorite Sports Attire.
First Winter Formal ~ Bonjour! Del Norte’s first winter formal – presented by ASB, “An Evening in Paris”, is Saturday, December 5 in the Del Norte Gym. Tickets go on sale, Monday, November 16. Tickets will be $15. Prices go up when we return from Thanksgiving break to $20 on November 30 and December 1. Then, the prices will go up to $25 on December 2nd to 4th. You cannot buy tickets at the door the night of the dance. Save money, buy early. Tickets are on sale during lunch at the student store. Guest Pass Contract
Westview Drama ~ Westview Drama Company would like to invite Del Norte students and staff to their production of Neil Simon's hit comedy, FOOLS. They are having a special "Two for One" price for Thursday's show. The curtain is at 7:30. Students can come with friends or parents and just identify themselves as Del Norte at the box office. There will also be a matinee at 4:00 on Friday and will close Saturday at 7:30. This opportunity is also available for Del Norte staff. Regular price on tickets is $8.00 general admission and $10.00 reserved
