Dear Creekside Parents,

We are off and running on another fantastic school year. The PTA Executive Board and Committee Chairs have been working  on organizing a set of programs this year to best support the needs of children, school and our community.  The programs were reviewed with parents at our Association Meeting at Back to School Night and a list is available on our website.  Programs voted on for this year support the input received from parents and teachers who were surveyed at the end of last school year.  Of course, fundraising has begun to support these activities and is slowly picking up speed.  We are asking again this year for a $75 donation from all families in lieu of a formal fundraising campaign (e.g. gift wrap, cookie dough sales) which the majority of parents preferred.  The preference for "no hassle" fundraising AKA 'Gecko Fund' was largely to avoid the stress of sales to family and friends but also because ALL of the profits stay at Creekside.

We also appreciate your support of the PTA through membership.  This year our goal is to build our PTA community at Creekside with 50% of all families joining.  Your membership dues of $10 in part will support our programs at Creekside and a portion ($4.60) is directed to our district, State and National portions of the organization which is working hard to protect the educational and community needs of all kids across the US.  

Our specific PTA goals for this year are also outlined on our website and we will be updating the site as much as possible.  The PTA Executive Board meets regularly and the PTA Association meeting will meet again in early Spring.  Please see the calendar on the PTA website for the schedule and watch for more information in the PTA section of the Friday e-blast.

We appreciate all of our wonderful volunteers who have stepped forward to help organize or support our Creekside community, both our PTA sponsored programs and in the classroom throughout the school year.
