PUSD Volunteer Requirements/Information

All Regular Volunteers at BMMS must have the following:

Current TB Test:

PUSD requires all volunteers to have a TB Test every 4 years. Check here for clinic dates for available dates. Once the testing process is complete, submit your cleared PUSD TB test form to the BMMS Nurses office.

Megan’s Law:

In 2003 PUSD determined that for the safety of students all regular volunteers must have their names cleared through the Megan’s Law database. This database is the State of California sex offender list. To obtain a copy of this application, go to www.powayusd.com. All forms are listed under “registration.”

Volunteer Badge:

Once volunteer clearance is complete, contact the office to set up a time to take your photo taken for the appropriate volunteer badge. And make sure to sign in at the front desk (Marlene's desk) whenever volunteering. This helps with security (ensures that each adult on campus has the proper clearance to be volunteering) and safety (in case of an emergency, we know where you are on campus).

Other Volunteer Information

Driving on Field Trips:

If you’d like to drive on classroom field trips, you will need to complete a form, available from the office, and return it to the office along with a copy of your driver’s license and insurance coverage. The required minimum insurance coverage for public liability are as follows: Bodily Injury - $100,000/$300,000 per accident; Property Damage - $50,000 per accident; Medical Payment - $5,000 per accident.

Privacy Counts:

As a volunteer, you may see or hear confidential information about a student. Please keep it confidential. If other parents approach you about their child’s progress or behavior at school, please refer them to their child’s teacher.
