dynamic and talented staff works and plans together to provide students
with outstanding standards-based educational experiences and academic
growth opportunities in all content areas. Sixth grade serves as a
transition year in which students begin changing teachers, adjust to
locker rooms in PE, select electives, go to camp, and learn
organizational skills. Our village format for 7th and 8th graders has
students within a village assigned to the same Humanities and Science
teachers so 2-3 teachers are working closely with the same group of
students. With our Block Schedule, students attend (3) 98-minute classes
each day and our rotating schedule allows teachers and students to
optimize learning by not always having a difficult class last period.
The
Before and After School Program, offered through Quality Children’s
Services, provides a safe haven for students to work on homework in the
Library or the computer lab, play in the gym or the Bobcat Center, and
participate in athletic or small group activities after school.
