ELL Information

Our first ELL parent meeting was held Wednesday, September 3, before Back-to-School night. At the meeting we established this year’s ELAC (English Language Advisory Committee) which consists of all ELL parents, school administrators, and any other parent from the school who wishes to be a member. We elected our District ELAC representatives: Mrs. Kawano and Mrs. Lucarelli. The BHMS ELL program was presented in detail. A former ELL parent, Mrs. Swanepoel spoke on how parents can become involved in the school. We also presented how ELL students can become involved in the many different school activities and clubs.

Our second ELL parent meeting was held Wednesday evening, February 4^th, in the Library. We had around 35 parents in attendance. We reviewed a variety of topics including recently received CELDT scores, upcoming CST testing, 6^th grade camp, and 8^th graders transitioning into high school.

Our next meeting will be an end-of-year international pot luck and party. The meeting will be held in the Multi-purpose Room on Wednesday, May 27^th at 5:30 p.m. All students and parents of BHMS are welcome to come. Information regarding this last meeting will be sent home in May.
