Policies

| Lockers | Uniforms | LoanersMedical Excuses | Make-ups |

Lockers: Students are assigned a personal locker for their use during P.E. class.  We ask that all students keep their lockers locked at all times.  Students may provide their own combination lock, or purchase a lock from the school.

Locker Room Notes:  Here are some reminders for your student to make the year smoother in the Locker Room.

  • Always keep your locker locked!

  • Don't share lockers

  • If you lose your clothes or lock, check the lost and found

  • If you have a problem, please come to the P.E. office located in the Locker Room.  WE WANT TO HELP!

You may get up-to-date information on the Physical Education Department through LearningPoint

Uniforms:  Students are required to suit up daily.  P.E. clothing is available for sale in the coaches offices.  The school uniform consists of:

  • Shirt - Bernardo Heights P.E. shirt or a plain grey or white T-shirt.

  • Shorts - Bernardo Heights P.E. shorts or plain black athletic shorts.

  • Footwear - Athletic shoes with laces and socks are required.

  • Sweats - Sweats are optional.  If a sweatshirt is worn, it must be worn over the P.E. uniform.

Loaners: If a student forgets their P.E. clothes, freshly laundered P.E. clothes are available in the coaches offices.

Medical Excuses:  If a student is unable to participate in P.E. due to illness or injury, they must have a note from a parent or guardian that states the following:

  • Name of student

  • Date

  • Reason for excuse

  • Signature of parent or guardian

  • Parent or guardian's home/work phone

A student may be excused from P.E. for up to three consecutive days with a note from home.  Exemptions that exceed three days need to be certified by a physician.

Make-ups:  It is the student's responsibility to make-up any class assignments missed due to absence or medical excuses.  Failure to do so may affect a student's grade.  Students should check with their teacher regarding missed assignments.
