OUR NEWEST BOBCAT!

During our Welcome Back Assembly in 2008, Dr. Johnson introduced students to our newest and youngest Bobcat.  This baby Bobcat was adopted by Dr. Johnson on behalf of Bernardo Heights Middle School as our own “real” mascot.

He was found by a truck driver on the side of the road last spring while coming across the mountains.  Thinking the kitten had been abandoned, he took him home to his family in Anaheim.  Within a few days they realized this was no ordinary kitten.  The family took the bobcat to the Lions, Tigers, and Bears Sanctuary in Alpine where he will be cared for and live hopefully for many years.

Our student naming contest is complete and the winning name is TOBY.  He may be RJ up at the animal sanctuary, but he is now TOBY at BHMS.

Stay tuned for updates on our little guy.

He is rambunctious, full of energy and a happy healthy bobcat who is almost a year old.  He loves his new roommates Tuffy, Bob and Gizmo and has added a bit of youthful exuberance to each of their lives.

Happy Birthday to Toby
