NEW DIRECTIONS HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM
Attended New
Directions (ND) High School Program in the past:
Students who have
attended the high school program at ND must meet with
their high school counselor to request a transfer.
If approved, the counselor will fax a referral to ND. After
receiving the referral:
ØND
personnel will call you to schedule an enrollment
appointment.
ØStudents
must continue attending classes on campus until the day
before their enrollment appointment or they will be
considered truant.
Never attended ND
High School Program:
Students who have never
attended the high school program at New Directions (ND)
must attend a "Parent/Student Information Meeting."
BEFORE attending the information meeting, the
student & parent are required to meet with the counselor
at their school site to:
ðDiscuss
the reason for requesting the transfer,
ðInvestigate
options/interventions available on
the campus in lieu of transferring.
If the transfer is approved by your
school counselor and administrator, you will be given a
referral form and asked to do the following:
- Call New
Directions at 858-748-0010 ext. 2420 to register
to attend the next available information meeting,
- View the
PowerPoint presentation,
- Attend the
information meeting.
At the information meeting, if the
student wishes to continue with the transfer to New
Directions, you will:

Schedule an
enrollment appointment,
- Withdraw
from your school the day
before your enrollment appointment,
-
Continue attending classes on campus until
the day before the enrollment appointment or a
truancy will be given.

NEW DIRECTIONS MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAM
Parents who
would like their child to enroll in the middle school
program at New Directions (ND) must speak to the
counselor at their child's school to:
ð Discuss
the reason for requesting the transfer,
ð Investigate
options/interventions available on
the campus in lieu of transferring.
If
the transfer is approved, the site counselor will call
the ND counselor who will:

Call you to schedule an enrollment
appointment,
-
Advise you on how & when your child will
withdraw from their school (the day before his/her
enrollment appointment),
-
Inform
you that your child must continue attending classes
on campus until the day before the enrollment
appointment or a truancy will be given.
